Out of curosity I did a web search for Canton FD, and was very pleased to find this website. My Grandfather Donald Howe as well as my Uncle Milford Howe were past members of Canton FD. Growing up and making visits to Canton I remember visting the old station on Court Street and hearing the siren go off for runs.
A friend here in Indiana with Canton ties, was back a coupe of years ago for his grandmother funeral (Alma Burkman) was very touched by the honors given to her by the fire department.
During a recent visit back to Canton, I was very impressed of the new station on Riverside, and glad to see that Canton still provides top of the line volunteer service to its community.
