Second MVA Results In Car Striking House

Past Fire Chief Robert Crowe, November 16

Canton Fire and Rescue personnel were in service for less than 10 minutes when they were dispatched at 1635 to a reported car vs. house MVA at 650 Judson street road. Ambulance 131, Rescue 1, and Engine 7 were enroute immediately. Arriving on scene at 1644, units found a single vehicle that left the roadway and slid sidways into a residence. Past Fire Chief Robert Crowe, November 16

The first significant snowfall to hit the area led to several motor vehicle accidents, including a near head on collision on USH 11 near Frazier Computing. Canton Fire and Rescue was dispatched at 1539 with Ambulance 131 and Rescue 1 responding at 1540. Harvester Fire in Morley

At approximately 22:06 on 10/12/2018 members of Canton Fire & Rescue were dispatched for automatic mutual aid to assist Morley Fire with a reported harvester fire at the Smith Farm on County Route 27. At 12:07 PM Canton Fire & Rescue was alerted to a one car motor vehicle accident at 6355 US Highway 11. The vehicle involved struck the guard rails in the south bound lane and exited the highway coming to rest in the ditch. The patient was evaluated and transported for further treatment. At 18:07 Canton Fire & Rescue, County Car 4, and Morley Fire First Responders were alerted to a two car personal injury accident at the intersection of State Highway 310 and Morley-Potsdam Rd. At 20:29 Canton Fire & Rescue along with County Car 4 were activated to a one-car rollover in the vicinity of 1475 Old DeKalb Rd. Upon arrival, the crew from A-131 reported possible entrapment and assistant Chief Aldous requested Rescue 1 to begin preparing for extrication. Fire Destroys Canton Dairy Queen

At approximately 1:40 AM August 5th, Canton Fire & Rescue and County Car 4 were activated for a possible structure fire at 45 Gouverneur St., Canton Dairy Queen. Central Dispatch advised that law enforcement units on scene were reporting heavy smoke and explosions at the rear of the building. Members of Canton Fire and Rescue were joined by the Wolf Den of Cub Scout Pack 11 to complete the “Council of Fire” adventure. The Cub Scouts toured the station, ambulances, Rescue 1, Engine 7, Tower 1, and UTV 4. They also had some hands-on demonstrations in the ambulance by AEMT-CCs Donald Thompson and Joyce Dalton.
