Five members of Canton Fire and Rescue completed the NYS OFPC Emergency Vehicle Operations Course today, successfully navigating the driving portion of the class. This 27 hours course teaches students their rights and responsibiities when operating an emergency vehicle. At 1325 hours on April 24th Canton Fire was dispatched to respond manpower mutual aid to 23 Riverside Drive in Colton for a working house fire. In addition a pumper was requested by Pierrepont Fire to stand by at their station. Rescue 1 was enroute at 1330 with a crew to Colton and Engine 8 responded to Pierrepont Station. Four members of Canton Fire and Rescue completed the NYS OFPC Water Supply Operations course tonight with the culminating exercise. Mutual Aid Barn Fire in Morley

At 2240 hours on April 16th Canton Fire and Rescue was dispatched auto aid to Morley Fire for a reported barn fire at the former Jordan Farm on County Route 14 in the hamlet. Engine 8 and Tanker 20 were enroute at 2245 with Rescue 1, Engine 7, Tower 1 and Ambulance 132 following thereafter. Mutual Aid Structure Fire in Rennsselaer Falls

During the windstorm on April 4th at approximately 18:40 Canton Fire & Rescue was requested to respond mutual aid to assist neighboring department Rensselaer Falls Fire for a possible working structure fire 985 Old Dekalb Rd. Members of Canton Fire & Rescue were very busy answering 17 service calls during a twelve hour period during the wind storm on April 4th. Calls for assistance ranged from trees down blocking multiple roadways, flooded basements, a tree fallen on a home, and multiple calls for downed power lines. Two Car MVA At Martins Corners

Crews were just clearing from the MVA on the Old DeKalb Road when they were dispatched at 0853 hours, along with Pyrites Fire, to a two car MVA with rollover at the intersection of County Route 25 and the Barnes Road. Canton Fire and Rescue was dispatched at 0823 hours for a reported one vehicle roll over on the Old DeKalb Road in the vicinity of the Lincoln Road. Ambulance 132 and Rescue 1 responded.
