Working Fire At Bourdeau Brothers

A working structure fire at Bourdeau Brothers brought a large mutual aid response to the north side of the Village. At 1638 hours Canton Fire and Rescue, along with County Car 4, were dispatched to a reported structure fire at Bourdeau Brothers. At approximately 13:46 Central Dispatch activated Canton Fire & Rescue for a possible structure fire at 6286 CR 27, Birchwood Park Trailer Park. Canton Chief, Brian McCluskey, was en-route almost immediately and arrived on scene at approximately 13:51 reporting smoke showing from the rear side of the trailer. Canton Fire and Rescue held their annual election of officers tonight. Chief Bob Crowe completed his five years as Chief and passed the torch to Chief Brian McCluskey, who was elected Fire Chief by the members. The results of the remainder of the elections are as follows:

CFD Responds To Working House Fire

At 1640 hours, Canton Fire and Rescue was dispatched to a report of smoke coming from the rear of the residence at 28 Judson Street. A further update from Central Dispatch advised that a State Trooper on scene was reporting heavy smoke. Statewide Burning Restrictions Go Into Effect March 16

The Canton Fire Department and the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) reminds residents that with warming temperatures and dry conditions, residential brush burning is prohibited March 16 through May 14 across New York State.

Due to the lack of snow cover over much of the state and with rising temperatures forecasted for the coming weeks, conditions for wildfires could be heightened.
