Early Morning MVA on Route 11

At approximately 4:20 AM on June 10th Canton Fire & Rescue was alerted to a reported two car motor vehicle accident in front of the Best Western University Inn on Route 11. Rescue 1 responded moments later and A-131 responded from Potsdam as they were returning from a medical call earlier that morning. No Caption CFD Assists Canton PD With Meth Lab

Past Fire Chief Robert Crowe, May 25

Canton Fire was disptached at 1430 hours to assist Canton PD in the Family Dollar parking lot at 2 Main Street. The PD advised that they were on scene of a suspected mobile meth lab in a backpack at that location. The New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team (CCSERT) was on scene to dismantle the one pot operation. Crews staffed a charged hoseline to protect the troopers ... Mutual Aid to Pierrepont FD For Working House Fire

At 2119 hours Canton Fire was dispatched as part of a Tanker Task Force mutual aid to Pierrepont Fire for a reported structure fire on the Orebed Road. First arriving units reported a house with significant fire involvement. Tanker 20 responded 2121 hours and provided water via water shuttle. Canton Fire & Rescue was alerted to a two vehicle MVA at the intersection of State Highways 68, 310 and USH 11. Intial reports were that there were injured parties at the scene. Canton Fire & Rescue Responds To Pyrites For Another Wildland Fire

For the second day in a row members of Canton Fire & Rescue responded auto aid to Pyrites Fire. This fire, located at 227 North Woods Road , had gained a significant foothold in the woods which required extensive hand operations. Auto Aid To Wildland Fire In Pyrites

Canton Fire and Rescue was alerted for automatic aid to Pyrites Fire for a fire in the woods at 143 North Woods Road at 1312 hours. Engine 8 responded at 1320 hours with Tanker 20, Rescue 36 and UTV 4 responding shortly there after. EVOC Training Completed By 5 Members

Five members of Canton Fire and Rescue completed the NYS OFPC Emergency Vehicle Operations Course today, successfully navigating the driving portion of the class. This 27 hours course teaches students their rights and responsibiities when operating an emergency vehicle.
